Indivisible Durango has been holding rallies and educational meetings to stimulate the citizens of SW Colorado to show up, support progressive causes and candidates, and speak out.
Our mission?
Our mission is to safeguard our democracy and quality of life now and for future generations. As a grassroots, non-violent resistance movement, we work to protect existing legislation & promote new legislation and policies that facilitate our mission and reflect the values of inclusiveness, respect, fairness, honesty, integrity, peace and hope.
We are present and we are engaged ... but we are now carefully curating photos shown of participants at rallies and meetings. Likewise, we are not displaying the names of the "coordinating committee" - an ad hoc group of volunteers who are ALWAYS looking for new ideas and energy from others! Why not? Frankly, we don't quite trust our current administration to not use that info against us all, either as a group or as individuals.

ID Receives COBALT Award
On August 26, 2026 Indivisible Durango was awarded a 2025 "Outstanding Partner" Award from the COBALT Reproductive Rights group. COBALT "is dedicated to fighting for systems, structures and policies that protect reproductive rights and guarantee comprehensive, universal access to reproductive healthcare, including abortion". They took the lead in creating the petition drive for getting Initiative 89 (subsequently Amendment 79) on the 2024 Colorado Ballot which was eventually approved by 62% of Colorado voters (55% was required) creating the right to abortion in the Colorado State Constitution and allowing the use of public funds for abortion.
We were recognized for partnering with COBALT in this effort. Indivisible Durango in turn would like to recognize Barbara Day as our outstanding volunteer with this effort. Barb totaled about #1000 signatures in both our area and Southeast Colorado (signatures of 3,268 or 2% were required in our southwest Senate District #6). Kudos Barb!!!!
An effort to overturn Colorado's 2024 Amendment 79 FAILED after anti-abortion advocates, churches, and pastors did not collect enough signatures to place the repeal measure on the 2026 ballot!!
