On Thursday, December 18, 2025, Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper issued a joint statement regarding their hold to the Senate Appropriations Package to demand funding for the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Please thank our 2 senators for standing up for NCAR and encourage them to continue to do everything they can to save NCAR. Also call/email Rep. Hurd and tell him to do what he can to save NCAR.

Support Local Solar in La Plata County!
The battery moratorium is preventing LPEA from fixing its rooftop solar red zones and batteries are an essential part to renewable energy resilience. Obviously batteries are not a good fit for every location but we should not have a blanket anti-solar battery moratorium and approach the issue of batteries in La Plata in a site specific project-by-project way-- which is exactly what the BESS code is and what the county commissioners will be voting on, on the 16th!

4th of July Parade, 2025
Indivisible Durango marched in the Fourth of July parade as part of the “Climate Champions” group organized by Citizens’ Climate Lobby (“CCL”). The theme of the 4th of July Parade was “Wet and Wild” and the CCL theme was “Free to Save our Oceans”. CCL and Indivisible Durango wanted to show that there are many local organizations concerned about the climate. The majority of Americans are concerned about the climate. We aim to demonstrate that they are not alone.

Huge turnout in Durango for the June 14th "No Kings" march and rally . The paper counted 2,688 marchers and that did not include the folks who did not march, but choose to just show up at park for the rally. Thank you to ALL of the volunteers who were street monitors, manned tables, helped with set up and take down, and those who donated to help defray costs of permits, etc. We could not make this happen without ALL of you! With much gratitude, your Indivisible Durango Tea

Donations are still needed for food assistance.
Online Food Drive! SNAP has not been fully restored yet. Your donations are critical. An umbrella organization has been created to hold funds for all the food banks in the area - five counties all together! Money is the best way to help, since food banks have better buying power (discounts, etc) than we do! Please donate and share this!
